Sorry to butt in but whats the difference between doing the Master of engineering at UoM and a single engineering degree at Monash? Are both of them the same or is it an advantage to do one over the other?

Well biggest difference is that at Monash you can go straight to engineering (undergraduate) but for UoM you must do a general degree like Bachelor of Science the get the masters of engineering (post-graduate).

Hm not too sure but i would assume so, as ive heard that monash engineering is better that UoM engineering.

Well, in B.Sci you do an engineering major, so it's not like you're starting from scratch when you start M.Eng. The depth works out to be exactly the same as the old B.Eng at UoM.
