feasible region...

When your looking for maximum or minimum profit from the feasible region, do we use the coordinates of the verticies/corners of the quadrilateral?
OR do we use feasible any of the feasible points?? Because in the solutions of a prac paper, it says that 'NOte that in this case the maximum profit wont necessarily occur at a corner point because the value of x and of y must be an integer because we are talking about a number of trucks'
Are we suppose to know this or required to know that with profit questions we need to apply this method?
Because the textbook and my teacher only tells us to use the vertice points :/

You should know for a fact that it can be a possibility that the maximum profit can arise from a point besides the corner points as seen in the VCAA 2009 exam 2 (Q4. Module 3). The context related to number of flights and hence the coordinate (4.5,5.5) produces the maximum profit but it is not logical and hence was wrong.

You can only use integer coordinates (because of context being number of trucks), so that takes it down to probably a maximum of 10 coordinates to try.
As they give you the profit equation (eg. P=1300x+2100y), we look for any points that have a higher y value over the x value you basically half the number of coordinates down to a possible 5. Sub in numbers from there, it's quick and easy.

like the vertices might not be whole numbers so u have to use all the other points close to it within the feasible region.

Just define the function in your calc then plug in numbers.  It's the only way to guarantee the right answer.

Yeah thanks that clarified it for me when i did the 09 vcaa exam :) 
furhter teachers are useless.... i pretty much taught myself most of the course..
