Okay so I'm hoping someone can help me out here.
Fixed Ratio or Variable Ratio, which one is more resistant to extinction of the response?

Am I correct in saying Fixed Ratio establishes consistent responses quicker than Variable Ratio, but Variable Ratio is likely to be continued longer after the reinforcement is ceased?

Yeah I believe so.

Also .. dont forget .... I HIGHLY doubt vcaa will put a question about them specificily. they always put one or 2 on the paper .. but I havnt seen one that is DIRECTLY asking for differences in partial and continuous reinforcement in regards to speed and extinction/extinguish rates.

So , dont stress about it too much.

However I think you are correct .and also .. there should be a Graph of them in ur psych book which shows the rates etc etc .. ( i cant give u page ref as I dont have my book anymore sorry ).

Thanks Matt123,

I know the page you're referring to. Of all the course content material I'm still finding these reinforcement schedules the most challenging.
Thankfully I've only ever seen them on MC and 'fill in the space' questions in the short answer.

Just out of curiosity, how many prac exams would be ideal to do before the exam?

Hahahaha man dw im in the same position as you. these partial reinforcements are probably , i think , the hardest thing on the course ... and diff exams give you diff answers so it becomes quite confusing.

but honestly .. I dont think you will ever have to differentiate between them on the actual exam... never seen one ( not in this course anyhow) and I doubt we will. but just know them , because they will ask you general questions , as you would already know.

Also.

I think ... depends how well you wanna do.
if your aiming for full marks , I would suggest keep doing exams until you get 2-3 in a row 100%.
if you get something wrong on an exam .. dont do the next one untill you understand why you got that question wrong.

Goodluck my friend
