Group Work and Social Loafers
(1/1)

I need advice...
For one of my subjects, we have this group work thing...3 people in each grooup.
Its a group project that's one semester long and I think about 40% of final grade.
The other person in my group and I have put input to the project while the third person has barely done anything...
For eg: for this project plan, the third person did nothing for it. When we had to sign this form saying how much each person contributed to the task, the third person wrote that she did the same amount as us two when in reality she did nothing. I was pretty pissed off.
At the begiinning, we had set group meeting times and agreed to those times. For the last two weeks, that third person has kept making excuses, saying that she can't come to the meetings and crap.
If she doesn't come to the group meetings, how are we ever gonna get the project done?? And if do get the project done and she barely does anything, she's gonna get credit for work she hasn't done!!
I think she doesn't care about this subject because its one of her breadth subjects...
THe other person and I have considered talking to our tutor about this...whether we could possibly kick her out of the group or something....but I don't think it would be possible because its already half way through the semester.
I don;t know
I really really need advice...

Report it to whoever co-ordinates the unit that the project is for. This isn't the first time a person has slacked off on a group project at uni. Unimelb will most definitely have practises in place for such an occurrence.

Either report it to the subject co-ordinator, or simply list this person's (lack of) contribution at the very end once you have completed it. You don't have to put up with crap like this.
