i'm using the grivas textbook, and the exact definition i'm given for integrity is: a commitment by the researcher to search for knowledge, to recognised principles of conducting research and in the honest and ethical conduct of research, including disclosure and communication of the results obtained

what? can someone else give me an explanation or definition I can use should it (god forbid) arise in the exam?

that's actually a difficult question.

I always thought of integrity to be .. honesty and truthfulness towards the participants , showing respect towards the participant and accepting their rights without deception.

not 100% sure though.
