I know that the methods one was stupidly easy and that it's going to be harder this year, but for spesh, what was last years exam like in terms of difficulty compared to other years? And what are we expecting in terms of difficulty this year in comparison?

Exam 1 was apparently extremely easy. If I remember correctly, exam 2 was long but not very hard.

I like situations where you "shit yourself." It's a nice test of determination and fortitude to succeed, where you use your determination to assauge your panic and reassert a focused state.

Sounds about right. Although i wouldn't say exam 1 was "extremely easy", it was relatively straightforward though.

Okay, that's kinda good, but it better not be insanely hard. But who knows?  VCAA does have a horrible habit of fluctuating the difficulty from year to year...

it won't make much of a difference whether or not its easy or hard..
if its easy, people are careless and make really silly mistakes, so there's still going to be about the same distribution of marks, and it doesnt make it any easier to get full marks
if its hard, then not so many people will do well which still means the percentiles are what you might get with an easy exam
well, thats what i think anyway

^^

But the difference is about those silly mistakes, making them on a really hard exam will be better than making them on an easy exam.

Even if by some miracle the distributions are roughly the same, an easy exam favors luck and ability to scrutinize every detail while a harder exam favors an in-depth knowledge of the course and problem solving skills.

Not necessarily saying that a hard exam rewards the more deserving though, in many cases the ability to scrutinize and not make those silly mistakes is the mark of an equally deserving candidate.

Well only two people got full marks...

Mean score for section two questions was 53%...

I wouldn't classify that as "extremely easy". Just not overly difficult...
