I suppose you could also state that with that 225gl savings that they have given a proportion of that back to the Goulburn Valley Region's farmers.

Same here! I need to practice mapping conflicts/subregions/different farming... as well as my global phenomenon map of rising sea levels =l

lara2707:
Yeah, true, which should help reduce conflict! I guess the NVIRP could work as a policy. Just that it's not in response to the conflict, it's kind of what caused it! :S Might ask my teacher. I think I'm pissing her off by asking so many questions haha :P Oh well, she should have been clearer!!

So many maps.....

lara2707:
Just emailed my teacher to ask about the policies and strategies. I'm going now, but I'll let you know what she says when she replies!

gold104:
Haha oh well, she only has to put up with you for another day or two! I still believe NS pipeline is the best conflict to discuss and map, and theres a pretty good chance we wont have to come up with a strategy for it.

Okay, i'll speak to you tomorrow then! Thanks

lara2707:
OK, she said to know the NVIRP, but didn't actually say if we could use it as a response to the NS pipeline conflict :|
Also said this:

Water trading is another response. Farmers who need more can buy a percentage of other farmers' water within or outside the region. This one can encourage better water use for the seller as they can make a lot money from selling off excess water, but maybe the buyer also may need to look at improving their water use and efficiency, and the product they produce if they are going to depend on more expensive water trading.

(Me again) I think water trading helos move water to users producing higher value crops (eg. horticulture instead of beef!), so farmers get more money back for the same amount of water.

Stressssssinnnngggggggggg :P
