Geography is driving me INSANE!!!!!

In the 2007 exam they asked to name an area or subregion and a.) describe the importance of water for it speople/ environment. b.) discuss one similarity/difference between that subregion and the RIverina which wa sin the data book. (6 marks) .... i know nothing about the subregions either, hence ill be studying them tomorrow.

Population CS's - Yeah we'were given similar ones.. im doing China and Japan as one is a controlled pop and the other is ageing. I think it might be wise for me to also look up a rising pop. if we have one.

Overall, my biggest fear lies in the MDB section of the exam. Theres only soo much they can ask you for local/pop/Pheno as we've all done different things, whereas MDB is a bit broader :S

... if you want, im happy to discuss things with you/help eachother out:)

lara2707:
Yeah, I'm most worried about the MDB too! would prob be good for you to have at least one case study of a youthful population. We've done Kenya and the Gambia.

What are you using for example of conflict in the MDB? I've got info on the NS pipeline and the Macquarie Marshes, but I've focused on the pipeline. Struggling with management to deal with the conflict :S

Discussion/help sounds great!

lara2707:
Oh, and thanks for the info about the sub-regions question!

gold104:
Ah yes, i have Kenya in new perspectives, i might just do that:)
- For my conflict in MDB i'll be using NS pipeline, and maybe Cubby Station or Coorong Lakes although i havent done much work on it! .. and yeah i still cant find what strategy they have implemented to sort out the protestors of the pipeline.

Looking at the pattern of past exams, they are moving away from characteristics/sub-regions of the MDB and asking more about conflicts... however it is still within their rights to bring back such things =/ Are you doing much study on subregions/distribution/chracteristics?

lara2707:
I think they actually arrested some of the protesters! I guess we can say that the response by the government was to install the pipeline anyway, despite protests. If they ask for a policy I guess I'll talk about the NVIRP, though the pipeline is already part of that, and how the gov. justifies the pipeline by saying it will save 225GL of water through the NVIRP.

No, I haven't done much on the sub-regions. I've got the basic details on them from the text books but that's all really. It would also probably be good to know about the irrigation regions, like Sunraysia for example. I really need to work on some mapping!!
