Quick Geometry Question

VCAA 2009, Geometry question 5 with the prism.

I have never encountered a question like this before, but my assumption was that instead of doubling every side, the tripling of one side makes up for the one that remained the same?

i've done this question twice today haha, this will be the third.

Make the following changes for the second prism:
l = l, w = 2w, h = 3h:
changes to






keep in mind i don't do the geo. module, so my working out may not be conventional

Edit: changed values to make equation true

although isn't volume 160?

Ok i changed it and it worked, thanks very much, I was trying to use scale factors >_<

yeah you are right, i didn't look at the exam paper, just got the values out of memory
but yeah working out is the same and lol 3 x 240 = 960 what a fail
