Are they just plain wrong?

An equlibrium reaction takes place at 800 degrees.

In each experiment, 50g of methane was reacted with excess steam. The mass of H2 evolved was measured.

Now my calculations ie: 50/16 * 3 * 2 = mass of h2 evolved. = 18.75. THEIR graph however of the first experiment at 800 degrees shows the graph tapering off at 5g of H2 evolved. Why is this the case?

It's an equilibrium reaction.
It doesn't go to completion. :)

gahhhhh  :-[

Also, does that mean increasing temp in the same time will produce more?

It's an exothermic reaction (combustion) so increasing temp decreases the amount of H2 evolved.

it isn't combustion, its endothermic actually.

Whoops. Didn't look at the equation. I just assumed that methane= combustion. :P
In that case, you are right.
