difficult concepts..
daniel99:
I was just wondering what people found the most challenging in psych and thought that we could resolve them in this toipic...
We have finished A.O.S 1 and my teacher never taught us about how people read and there was a question on a practice exam the other day..
It had something to do with how do the occipital lobe, front lobe (broca's areas) and the temporal lobe (wernickes area) assist us with reading..
I said that the occipital lobe, through the primary auditory cortex, see's the information and then receives and processes it, then the temporal lobe helps us give meaning to the words (as it is involved with memory)and the comprehension of the words, then broca's area helps to produce fluent and aticulate speech??
Is that right lol?
Glockmeister:
You probably would need to make mention of Wernicke's area specifically, cause temporal lobe does many things aside from just words. (this is unless the question just wanted the lobes)
Amnesiac:
You're definately on the right track. I studied it awhile ago but basically in chronological order the Occipital lobe would visually see the words, Wernickes area would be responsible for understanding the words written on the page and this infomation would then to transfered to Broca's area to form an articulate response.
I found some topics in Visual Perception to be quite challenging. I easily grasped the stages of Visual Perception while most students in my class stuggled, but i really don't like Accomodation, Convergance and Retinal Disparty. That area along with Constancies is a bit vague but i could whip out definitions if need be. That's probably my weakest area so far..
peace
Glockmeister:
Generally speaking, Visual Perception is the most challenging section of Unit 3 (this is attested by the fact that students get the lowest marks on this section). I never really got it myself really.
