I was thinking that, but wasnt sure. It says acpect of corporate management theory and the report critcised skills, so i didnt see how it was relevant..

lol i remember asking the exact same thing to my teacher last year
here's what a basic idea of what it is. There are a few theories of how to manage organisations and these thoeries have changed and developed over time.
In the beginning, corporations managed with the
Classical Theories
This is the belief that
* organasations should be bureaucratic to operate effeciently
* there must be a strict heirachichal organisational sturcutre with clear lines of communication (strictly top down)
* little or no employee consultation
Then organisations managed with a scientific approach
Scientific Theories
* emphasis on systematic methods to improve productivity
* approach where management analysies a job in great detail to discover the best way to perform it
* development of production lines
Behavioural Management Theory
-employees should be the main focus of the way in which the business is organised and managed
- applying maslow's heirachy of needs
- theory closest to today's organisations
in saying this, please DO NOT stress about this AT ALL. i highly doubt there will be a question about 'corporate management theory'. basically, it's not in my text book and i'm assuming it's not in yours.
and if they don't even bother mentioning it in the textbook, then i doubt it'll be on the exam. they have a lot more things to ask about than this.
far out. what is going on with these maniac bullet points?

Thank you elaine...
My teacher couldnt explain what it was and she said the same as you. They MOST likely would not ask you a qustion on the exam about such a small topic, when more important ones can be asked. However, it was in the study design so i thought that I ahould atleast have an understanding of what it envolved.
Thanks
