Yeah, I also got 47/50. I'm pretty happy with it and I really hope that I can maintain that sort of level in the subject.

I still havent done outcome one yet- the teacher swaped it around with outcome two. Outcome two was not too bad- we used dreamweaver to make a website for a specific company. Still waiting on my score  :P

We are starting outcome one soon- any tips? we are goin to be using MS Access- what a drain  :buck2:

its not THAT bad....

remember, the focus is: PAPERWORK. the digital product is not THAT important. crap digital product + awesome evaluation + good paperwork > awesome digital product + little paperwork.

Yeah, make sure you put a lot of effort into the paperwork.

My word count for ALL my documents (analyse, design, develop, test, document, evaluate) was somewhere like 20,000 words (remember that includes numbers). I put in a ridiculous amount of effort (I did most of mine at home because I just remembered the questions and saved my work on my USB). I think one day I spent something like 8 hours on it LOL..

It was the biggest (and most time consuming) SAC/project I have ever done in my whole 12 years of schooling. I missed out on 3 lazy marks (IPO chart) - pretty minor mistake but i'm happy I still got a 47/50 and ranked #1

LOL- databases  :D .  I intend to plan most of it at home before the sac starts. It cant be that hard right? Honestly im not that scared about it, only concerned about making any small database mistakes.

The thing is i consider myself a sort of whizz when it come to computers and technology ......but i just hate these tedious things like databases. Also mind you i never did IT 1+2, so im still a noob to the IT subject.

What do you mean 'I intend to plan most of it at home before the sac starts'?

database sac is long and very shitty because you have to be very dead on with your paperwork to get a good mark, i was really slack with my mock up diagram and IPO chart and I lost 10 marks from them

the paperwork is not exactly all database design.

stuff you need to do:

1. company structure, organisational goals, problem description
2. solution description, intended effects, IPO/flow chart [if required]
3. project planning, gantt chart, error log
4. database design
5. testing
6. evaluation [VERY IMPORTANT]

in evaluation, concentrate on the criterias. make sure that anything you have not fully met is discussed in the evaluation, and explain why.
as well as go in to the efficiency + effectiveness stuff, and talk about accuracy of your project planning.

jsimmo- i mean i will prepare a mock sac that is very similar to what is expected in the real sac. Hopefully i can get the structure looked over by my teach and simply just practise..... and maybe if allowed to i will bring my practice one with me for reference. Also given that the SAC is spanning over more than a lesson i can work on any problems i encounter during the SAC at home so that when i get back to school i already know the answer to my problems and can just get going from there.

mao- thanks for the advice, yeah your right about the evaluation part.

LOL, now i feel scared about the SAC  :o

Yeah thats what I did, my teacher gave us a practice SAC to do and then I basically modelled the real SAC on the practice SAC.

Also remember in your evaluation to relate back to the organisations goals that you mentioned earlier in the write up. That's where I lost a few little points.
