I just looking at the theory... for the spontaneous reactions the reason that they are spontaneous is because they will produce voltage, ie +ve. But non spontaneous will give negative as its E(oxidant)-E(reductant) >.<

I usually went zigzagging and went from there accepting it lol.

Yeah, it gives negative and thus won't occur unaided, or spontaneously - it requires a voltage. Hence the negative value. That's why you must supply electricity for electrolysis.
