Say if there is a question on dry cells... do you guys think they will except you to know the half equations?

And what else do you think I should memorise off by heart?

u gotta memorize the chemical that ur studying its raw materials, production, uses, waste management, enironment issues,  equilibrium equation, .. memorize notes on energy.. renewable and non renewable , the types and comparing them.. memorize certain forumals for energy, drawing a galvanic and electrolytic cell

understand how to work out which is the reduction/cathode and which is the oxidation/anode, how to work out the polarity and how to work out what will react when given different chemicals.
you do not need to memorize any specific cells. that used to be a part of chemistry when there was only a range of like 5 cells, now there's 500000000000bajillion different kinds of cells, so they'll give you a basic cell and ask you to interpret it.

Yeah, chances are they will give you an overall and a half equation, and ask you to work out the other half equation. They don't expect us to memorise all those cells, we just need to be able to apply the concepts.

Do they expect us to memorise the eqn for production of superphospate?

Probably not, worst case scenario is just one equation for the use of the chemical studied.
I suggest ammonium sulphate production: NH3 (g) + H2SO4 (aq) -> (NH4)2.SO4 (aq)

yeah like the 08 paper, 'give equation for the one use of your selected chemical'
