Is it the same as a letter? And do you have to put the date for a letter?

Date goes in letter like so:

(last line of letter ie. I look forward to your response)
                                                                Sayounara (1 box from edge)
(1 Box from edge) Year Month Day
                                                                Your name (1 box from edge)

Email structure is similar to letter but no need for the 'Sayounara' and date..
