Cinnah:
Kind of, I guess. I figured out what is just plain stupid looking, though I was young and stupid, so I didn't use it wisely enough. There were a lot of shit ones, a lot of ones with good ideas that ended up shit. This was years ago... I guess, though. You get kids who try to be avant garde and just miss the boat entirely, or kids that you can tell whose parents have been telling them they're the best their whole life, so they've never improved.
To be completely honest, there's always one or two really good pieces each top arts, handfull of good ones, and then some ones which just aren't... great.
Haha, so did I! I rewrote it actually... the email address thing and the caps through me off. To be honest, I'd be super happy even just for a shortlisting...
Yeah. Studio section is dead. It's because everyone is all HIGH ATAR: WANT TO BE DOCTOR, COME BACK WHEN DOCTOR. NO DINNER UNTIL SPECIALIST MATHS IS DONE.
Yes, exactly! I have the exact same problem. Though did you get any hand outs/supplements or anything? My art teacher photocopies ungodly amounts of teacher info for us, and the sample responses to the insight practice exam that I mentioned earlier was useful, I think. It's very VERY tricky.
For Khalo (spelling?) I guess you'd mention feminism? And maybe about her canvas size, tools, self expressionism etc... I don't really know. I didn't look at her in depth, though she's my friend's artist. I am looking at Henry Fuseli, just because he influenced my pieces. And he's a badass. Though I know about other artists a lot more... I just think they get tired of reading about Warhol and Dali :P
I wish I were on the right track... like we've agreed, it's difficult to know where you stand. I've never been a big studier, and in honesty, my other subjects aren't looking too good either... So yes. I'm scared.
