Should I do Literature Next Year

Hey guys, I was wondering if I should do literature next year. The problem is, that this year, for end of year exam for Lit 1/2 , I got 78%  :-[ for a combined score of poetry and comparative essay. The teacher said, I tried to overcomplicate my words, and syntax errors, which I will concede, did not have time to recheck my work after I just finished it in time. In english, I get over 85% quite easily however in my maths I can exceed 87% - 90% quite easily with minimum effort as well. I have the option to take up Further Maths, though I will know that I won't find it enjoyable because I for one hate maths, and also the competition will not be strong. I really love Literature, and I studied really hard for this end of year exam. I've been writing 1 essay per week , since the start of year 11 and I've seen massive improvements in terms of thought abilities which I had been able to develop and have also had the opportunity to broaden my spectrum in life.

I would like to know, should I be continuing Lit, and is still possible for me to get a SS of 40+, because if I am too sacrifice Literature, I feel as though, I have let myself down but also all the effort I've put in throughout the year. However, my mum suggests me to do Further Maths to maximize my ATAR but I feel as though its a knowledge that I won't need for my future.  :D

Stick to lit, get a tutor if you need it.

I agree stick with Lit - do something that you enjoy as opposed to doing something you don't, even if you are getting good marks in Maths. That's just me though - you'll tend to lack motivation for something you don't enjoy, while Lit you seem to have a passion for.

Alternatively, not saying I agree with it, do maths, get a better ATAR and read lit in your spare time.

You'll work harder next year if you do subjects you like. And if you really do love lit you will probably do better in it because you'll work really hard. Trust me, lit will be a good choice if you really do enjoy it.

Thanks for your advice guys, I went to my english tutor, and as she was re checking my work, she said I could of easily had over 90% because my points were really strong. However, due to the lack of time, i couldn't develop all my paragraphs properly, forgot to recheck my work and insert evidence where required. This by the end gave me a big confident boost :)
