WTF pi.
Our school does not highly recommend it at all.
In fact the booklist explicitly states that the previous edition is acceptable.
Just had Chemistry transition aswell and Sabo said the new edition affects you in no way.

lol, trust Sarbo if you want (record 15 kids who failed the unit 2 chem exam)... Good luck with chem then!

But Delaney definitely knows his stuff and highly recommends it
Everyone disses Sabo. Give the guy a break. He clearly compared both books, showing the identical pages and said exactly what you said. The pictures changed and there are a bit of harder questions.

Delaney's educated, and he said we should have it, I disagreed, hence the thread to ask the wider community

Look fellas, you don't need a book. I had both Delaney and Devlin this year, and we NEVER used the book. You have more than enough to succeed without the text, let alone requiring the new one.

I lost my book at the start of the year somewhere and never touched it, and I don't think I did badly on chem. Stick to the old book, and pi, stop raising alarm unnecessarily :P

for a reason, she had surgery (great compassion -thought you were up-to date with MHS  :P). She's a great teacher though, knows her stuff really well, and can also teach it really well as well. Class tests were too easy though...

No...not just this year...I'm talking ~5years back and off 'ratemyteachers'. She knows her stuff and all but apparently she's not present in class to teach it due to commitments such as being co-ordinator and all.

less co-ordinator, more that she is a hockey pro

+ongoing surgery (dont want to give details here)

even with all of that, she was here 80% of the time and half my class got A+ on the most recent exam

Err, I didn't really listen to my teachers this year, aside from Dr. G and my English teacher. (Oh and Delaney when he was teaching)

Prefer to sit there and do it myself sometimes.

For fucks sake, you two just argue all day fucking long. Start up a new forum called www.rohitpiVERSUSiNerdultimatebattleextravaganza.com and keep talking there. I'm sick of reading threads relevant to something I'm concerned about, only for the thread to be totally derailed due to your petty bickering.

Is anyone else annoyed that there is a new edition of the 4th edition of Heinemann chem out and it is nearly exactly the same as old 4th edition! Called 'the enhanced version', the only differences we could find were colour changes of some headings in  chapter reviews and some new irrelevant pics. + our school 'highly recommends' (means 'get it or else...') its purchase, wtf? Is this taking profits too far?
YES WHAT THE HELL?

I have to buy the 1/2 book.. its "enhanced" but I'm not sure to buy it or not..
Is it worth buying the 1/2 non-enhanced edition 2nd hand for 25 bucks?

Thanks.

iNerd:

This is not a clash of academic minds. If Einstein argued with Newton about which colour socks were superior, not only would this be a trivial argument belittling them both. It would be an argument that wastes intelligence.

Yes it would be fine. Just ensure you get the Enhanced CD off a friend and copy it. It has extra resources.
