Consider the sum Sn = 1 + x/2 + x^2/4 + ... + x^(n-1)/2^(n-1)
(a) Calculate S10 when x = 1.5
(b) (i) Find the possible values for x for which the infinite sum exists. Denote this sum by S.
(ii) Find the values of x for which S = 2S10.

ii is what I'm stuck on.

How do you guys write in that maths font-type-thing?

Thanks, I'll need it. :P It's pretty sad that I got stuck five exercises in. :/

But hey, you're doing spesh and methods, so you might as well be doing all three. xD Good luck yourself.

My school has a headstart program (I'm doing a week of yr 12 currently), but I would have started the work early anyway. I want to do as much math coursework as I can during the holidays, because I want to devote a lot of time to Music and English as well, and it makes the most sense to do maths at home, if anything. Plus I didn't do GMA so I could really use the time I have.

yeah we get a 'headstart' thing as well, but ours is this week...
and we would only get the first chapters for homework, but i plan to do much more than that

It would be a good idea. When the year starts and you've done everything (or, a lot) you'll be seeing everything done twice, on top of the revision you'll be doing.

i hate learning stuff for the first time in class as well, i like having a bit of background knowledge.i hope i can learn most the content these holidays so next yr will be revision for the most part.
