What was the difference between Rene Decartes' views on consciousness and William James' view on consciousness.

I'm a wee bit confused.
Help?

Lol you doing Psych next year?
Descartes was a dualist..something to do with brain and soul.
James suggested that consciousnss was always moving such as a stream of water.

In reference to consciousness, Descartes is a dualist. He believed that the mind was separate of the body.
