I studied Cloudstreet back in 2008. What you will be studying is the play adaptation by Nick Enright of the novel "Cloudstreet" by Tim Winton, which is quite a famous Australian novel. I found the play adaptation by Nick Enright to be quite good!

From looking at the 2011 text list for Literature on the VCAA site (http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/correspondence/bulletins/2010/February/2010FEBSUP4.pdf - page 9) it is important to keep in mind this is a "List A" text, and so will not appear on the exam. It will be used as a text for one of the outcomes, most likely the review of a review outcome (this was our outcome for cloudstreet when i studied it). Only "List B" texts will appear on the exam and so it is important to keep this in mind from the start when thinking about what you may wish to write on for the exam.

It is never to early to be thinking about what you may want to write on for the exam!  ;)

We will be doing Chinatown for a Critique of a Critique if that's the same thing?

Oh ok, you might be doing Cloudstreet for a different outcome then. Critique of a Critique = Review of a Review. The main point of my post was so that everyone keeps in mind that Cloudstreet is not a text that will appear on the exam and so it is important to realise this when you start thinking about exam prep, which in my opinion should start quite early in the year.

Yep!

I knew that but thanks for your help regardless, what SS did you get for Literature out of curiosity?

Yeah it was more general advice for everyone who will read this so there is no confusion. I have encountered a few people who don't realise until late in the year.
