Monash Engineering 2011

Process systems analysis is really easy. It has 4 hour tutes, but those are optional and simple as well. You finish lecture material by week 7 and spend the next 5 weeks either doing revision or having extra long lunch breaks.
From what I've heard, Electrical systems is really hard. They've had to tone it down the last few years because too many people were failing it.

ok thanks, is this good for semester 1:
Foundation Maths
Foundation Chemistry
Process systems analysis
Engineering Structures
I could swap structures and systems analysis with materials and/or dynamics. I realise I have to do them all anyway but maybe some are better to do together?
jimmy999:
Process systems is the first year chemical engineering unit which does utilise some basic chemistry. If I were you, I'd put process into second semester and replace it with materials. Materials and structures require less maths so you'll be okay with those.

which do you guys think is better to do if I am planning on doing civil, Electrical systems or Process systems analysis. I am not sure either are relevant, so which do you guys think are more interesting/easy?

Electrical systems ftw!
I did it last semester and the labs are really interesting because they are hands on and practical. During the last week, you get to make a thermometer which is quite fun. It's not that hard to score well in - you just gotta understand the concepts well and you should achieve a distinction pretty easily. Most of the questions from the exam are quite similar to the textbook questions but they normally they put a few tricky questions to differentiate the high-end students. I managed to pull a HD last semester and so did most of my mates.
chap:
should I try and make the lectures before the labs/support classes or does it not really matter?
