Thanks to you both. If I sound a bit down on myself, it's because I just looked at this.
Lol, similar to my English marks. You will easily get a 30, even if you get a B in the exam.

As for physics, you could get anywhere between B+ and A+ in the exam, and still get 37+

Lol, you're not as bad as you think you are. :) Believe in yourself!
Our SACs for English were really easy. For the text responses we were allowed to bring in summary sheets and we were given 3 periods to write 800 word essays. For the contexts, we were given 5 periods to write 3 800 word essays. They even gave us the topics a couple of weeks beforehand! Doing the practice exam was totally different. I only wrote 5 1/2 pages (I've got big writing) and I didn't even finish. I just can't write enough in such a short amount of time.

It's definitely possible... you have hardly "stuffed" your sacs, and I'm sure an A+ on the exam would get you a 40 raw+

But if you want a 30... I'm sure you could get that with a C
I didn't say I stuffed up my English marks, but I know that I'm not going to do as well in the exam as I did on my SACs. The reason I'm aiming for 30 is because it's a reasonable target, for me.

Do you know what a C equates to as an average (out of 10)?
Once again you HAVE NOT stuffed SACs, I'm pretty sure your sacs equate to an A+ and especially after your exam 1 result, you're looking towards a 40+ raw

However, if you want a 37, Its easily achieveable with an A on the next exam (even a high B+ should get you 37)
I'm not the top of my class, would my marks still go up? Isn't 37 around the top 14% of the state? Would a high B+ really get me a 37?

yes it probably would seeing as I'd estimate you got around top 5% in the midyear :o

86/90 is an awesome score, if someone had the same on exam 2 and similar sac results, they'd be in contention for a 46+ raw
or higher?

I'm sure you can get 37 raw with a high B+, but I know you'll get higher then that because of your midyear grade ;)

86/90 is an awesome score (Thank you multiple choice!). It'll be hard to replicate that mark, though. Teacher had to leave halfway through the year.  :'( All our new 'teacher' did was photocopy physics notes, hand them out to the class and then go on his laptop.

Hey all. Just a few questions here.

I need a 25 in Methods for my course, and I'm told this must be raw, not scaled.

If I have been getting 40% average in SACs (yes I know, I suck :(), what would you say I'd need on my exam? Someone else said a C, which I understand to be the average score..around 50%?

Oh and how about these:

English - Unit 3:  44/50 - A+
          Unit 4:  37.5/50 - A
          Exam: B+ / A

Methods - Unit 3: 22/50 - C
          Unit 4: 26/50 - C+
Exam: C (no idea, but still)

Italian - Unit 3: 33/50 - B
          Unit 4: 33/50 - B
          Exam: B+

Economics - Unit 3: 45.5/50 - A+
            Unit 4: 37/50 - B+
            Exam: B

I.T - Unit 3: 44/50 - A+
      Unit 4: 40/50 - A
      Exam: A

I'm trying to be as pessimistic as possible here..so if I don't do as well, I shouldn't matter as much. But realising that it isn't really as hard as I imagined to get a B in Italian for example (you only need like 50%!) and seeing the previous results posted on VCAA, has lifted my spirits somewhat.

Let's see what this gets me. Then I can adjust my working habits :)

Oh and clearly-in ENTER for my course is 87.

My turn :D!

English:
Semester 1 SAC Average - C+
Semester 2 SAC Average - D+
Exam Hopefulness - C+

Specialist Maths:
Mark submitted to VCAA - 85/100
Exam 1/2 predicted marks - A+/A+

Maths Methods:
Mark submitted to VCAA - 78/100
Exam 1/2 predicted marks - A+/A+

Physics:
Semester 1 SAC Average - 71%
Semester 2 SAC Average - 81.7%
Mid year exam - B+
End of year exam prediction - A

IT Applications:
SAC Average - 85%
Exam prediction - A

What do you think? I'm starting to worry.. I screwed up my first SAC for methods/spec which is why the low marks. Note to disregard my sig, I now need 85 as ENTER.
Eli rocks at running.

OMG! That's basically my average as well... although mine is slightly lower. For your sake, I hope you get 25! :)

Haha yes Methods is great fun isn't it! I guess it doesn't help that I really don't do any work..but oh well :P

Apparently a C+ would yield a definite 25. Looking at last year's exam statistics, a score between 50-67 / 160 would be enough. Even a 60/160 is only 38%! Definitely achievable. Think I got something like that on my trial >_>

Oh and woah..999 posts! :O

What would I be looking at for Methods?

Sacs: Low B (around 57%)
Exam 1: B+ (low - mid)
Exam 2: B (might be able to bump it to low B+)

Any chance of 30?

Ahh, ok :) 31 sounds good! I'd like 32+ though, so I guess I'll be working my butt off after English is over :) Thanks!

No-one would be able to predict study scores, let alone enter of that information!
What kind of grades e.g. scores out of 100, or even RANKINGS!
Medium to high is such a broad range, you could be looking at anywhere between 20-50.
