I'll recommend Anime watching as a good form of study, since that's all I can think of that really contributed to it.  >.>

i am very glad to hear that.

It's not a good idea to think in terms of "how many hours do I do a night?" The score you get in the end is not proportional to the time you spend on the subject, it depends on the knowledege that is in your head as well as exam technique and a bit of luck.

It's better to think in terms of "What do I need to have accomplished this week?" and then allocate goals to each night.

Although hard work does lead to better results, I don't think it's neccesarily beneficial to think along the lines of "I just need to work as hard as I can" because then you end up doing work that you don't need to do just for the sake of working hard.

Quoted for truth :) It is more about working smart and to a plan for a week and tick/mark things off. This also makes you feel as you have done something and are achieving your short term goals.

4 hours of work (with radio on) per day (maybe less on friday nights) following tasks from my school diary (noted in every day btw). Worked in year 11 (except I didn't do any bio study...)

Agree

But im just curious how many hours people study a night that's all, hence the title isnt worded as 'how many hours of homework should I do per night"

I read in the newspaper somewhere that its a measure of productivity not the number of hours you sit down, just for people who didn't know :)

from my experience I'd say don't set out an amount of homework you'll do every night...different times vary in the amount of work required....just work until you've revised everything you've learnt at school that day, done any setwork, looked over new vocab or grammar in languages and prepared for any sacs.  Also, pretty basic stuff, but start studying for a sac from at least a week before...even two weeks if possible!

Thisssssss. Just organise everything you need to do into a list of goals for the night and work through it. As so many people have said so far, successful study doesn't come down to time, it's comes down to how you use whatever time you have. For me this coming home and from say, 5 til 10 working through whatever I have to and then jumping into bed at 10. Sleep is under rated and is so vital in success. And obviously, in that 5 hour block there's time for AN/VN, food, relaxing, sport, etc.

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely -- at least, not all the time -- but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”

That is awesome. :D

Also, time to relax, and not feel like the only thing you're doing is study would be good too. :P

Yep.. sleep is definitely important. I don't care if an awesome TV show is airing late at night, or I feel the urge to cram into the early hours of the morning.. I will always want my sleep!

Very important, and especially without subjects like geo, history and music craft... (deepest apologies to all arts/humanities students for that)
