if it wasn't hypothetical, that is beyond awful.
did you apply for special consideration (a very valid reason i would believe)

--- End quote ---

Yes, this did happen elaine, during end of year exams.
I did not apply for special consideration because I didn't really know the man well ...the pain I felt was that of seeing my Nanna so upset, not so much the actual death.
TBH, I didn't really consider applying for special consideration. It affected my morning, but I blocked it out well enough during my exam to the point where I do not believe it *greatly* impeded my abilities, and thus did not warrant special consideration. I didn't want to abuse a system that was designed as a safety net for people who have suffered far more real hardship during an exam period.

you're strength is simply astounding
it would've definetely affected me, but it's really honourable that you didn't apply

--- Quote from: costargh on June 10, 2008, 10:31:57 am ---Tommorow has to be like the best place ive ever been in the world if I want to do the best! Disneyland? ;)

I WANNA GO

Fyrefly:
Emotionally strong? Ha ha... certainly not me.
I rely far too much on my social network for emotional support.
It was rather sobering tho. I saw the sad irony in the fact that financial problems drove him to suicide, and the world of accounting is so very concerned with the materialism of business and wealth. I'm not sure whether my ability to see beyond the materialistic will make me a good accountant, or a very bad one, lol. I know one thing tho... I wanna go to Disneyland too! Can one of you take a really big suitcase?? :P

I think the most important preparation you can do for accounting on the day is remembering where NOT to make mistakes (by lookin at the Assessment reports and readin the thread on here about it)... because thats what separates A+ and A students (their ability not to make silly mistakes under pressure)

--- End quote ---

That is why i'm only an A student. Ive done about 5 practice Exams from a range of sources (Last years Exam, Neap, Insight, QAT, COMDAC) and majority of the checkpoints books but i keep making these stupid mistakes.

What do I do??

Go to bed woodsie :)
Plenty of sleep and have something low GI for lunch 2moz.
Your brain will be in top processing condition if you're well-rested, so you'll be on fire and mistake-free.
During reading time, read carefully. Pick up on where you may make little mistakes and watch out for them when you get to those questions.
