are we required to draw the third lone pair off the nitrogen atom in the amine(-NH2) group of amino acids etc??
some exams dont have it in the answers but the Neap SmartStudy practice exams have it in all answers.

does anyone know what the vcaa expects of us in the exam regarding this matter??

yeh my teacher said you should for sacs and stuff. but it couldd be different for VCAA, so you might need some reassurance from someone.

they cant take mark off you for not putting them on [unless the question say "SHOW LONE PAIRS"]
so take the safer option - dont write it :)

(version 2):
It is correct and conventional to not show lone pairs, and VCAA cannot deduct marks off you unless otherwise stated
hence the safer option is to not draw the lone pair.

happy? :)
