Urgent Help ! - Bcomm Accounting/Finance + Language

Hey Guys

I've been trying to fix this myself and with the help of Melbourne Uni but they haven't been the best with my issue. They just refer me to other people who say the same thing and I've just become really confused by it...
Im doing Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance with accreditation and would also like to do the French Intermediate stream.
Study Plan is here http://www.bcom.unimelb.edu.au/bachelor/majors/accounting.html

Its just first year I'm stuck on. I only have one breadth to play around with, which I was hoping I could do French Intermediate Language and Culture A in... then I thought, how can I move on and whats the point of doing a semester in it if I can't progress.
Then I thought about moving PBL to Year 2/Semester 1 so I have space to do French A and B in year 1, then do a summer semester in something else so I can keep going with french up to Level 3B... but then theres that stupid rule that I can only do 37.5points of level one breadth, which in my case would only be PBL, ATA and French Intermediate Language and Culture A....
I noticed that there was an Intensive Intermediate French for summer semester that I'm interested in. But I'm not sure where that leads to. If I do that after Year 1, then in Year 2 can I go straight to level 2 intermediate french/post VCE ?

If anyone can help me out with what else I can do.. that'll be great. I emailed the subject teacher for French but he hasn't got back to me yet, and I already enrolled for French Intermediate A and since timetabling opens on Monday I figured I should organise this asap.

Thanks in advance !

You could put PBL in second semester however you cannot do French B

Also you can delay ATA by doing it in the summer semester in 2012.

How would the diploma work in regards to my course Rustic ?
And AccFur even if I delay ATA I still can't do French B cause I still have 3 Level 1 Breadths.. So then theres no way I can get to French 2A is there ? Its so confusing..
I was looking at the Intensive Intermediate French Summer Course here: https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2011/FREN20018#relatedDocumentId
If I complete that, is it possible to go to Level 2 Intermediate French.. or what French subjects can I do after completing this course ? =)

The diploma basically stretches your degree out to 4 years: 24 subjects from your BCom and 8 from the Diploma. You can structure them any way you want, but a standard way is to do 3 BCom subjects and 1 Diploma subject each semester.

If you do a language subject in summer you will get destroyed. It's hard enough as it is, lol.

Nah, no real point cross-crediting. You'll have to do a non-level 1 breadth, so might as well do PBL, ATA and 2 extra breadth subjects (one non-level 1), then sticking all of your French in the diploma. That's what I'm doing.

Oh you're doing that too ? Whats your course plan like if I may ask ?
So you're saying in year one not to do french at all and wait till Year 2 to take it up ?

Before I planned to go on exchange, it looked something like this:

Light blue is engineering/mechanical engineering, green is physics, red is maths, orange is breadth, purple is Japanese (diploma), dark blue is electrical engineering, yellow is software engineering.

I'm taking Japanese in 6 semesters total (levels 1A through 3B), but 2 of the 8 subjects are sort of add-ons, rather than standard level subjects, so I'm doing those alongside the normal Japanese subjects.
