Really?? My teacher says that you shuold change your answers slightly. - Maybe that's for a different section?

you probably "should" but hey, copying is easier, especially for the first two qns in the section.

NB: I think I did have to shorten it significantly to make it fit on the line though...I can't remember too much about the VCE Jap exam anymore though.

Well i'll ask my teacher again, anyway i dont find it too difficult to change the sentence structure. - Actually it depends what the sentence says :P

For the "Respond in English" questions, usually a direct translation would do the trick, maybe needing a little adjustments here and here to answer the question. For the "Respond in Japanese" questions, I usually note the stimulus of the question (e.g. どんな、いつ、つもりですか etc.), the key words that I need and copy out a chunk, tweaking it myself to make it fit as an answer.

That said, my teacher hasn't focused too much in "Respond in Japanese" questions in reading comprehensions at all. : /
