Ahhh dangit I should have taken the plunge and just bought my law textbooks weeks ago, now it's going to be nuts finding them on marketplace =[
Btw, if anyone can hook me up with last year's (or even this year's if it's available) reading guide for torts and crim, massive + karma! ALso +karma for last years LSS crim A and torts A notes!
To the OP, unless they have significantly changed the ETC1000 course, you do not need any textbooks for that course. They are extremely generous in the amount of lecture notes they provide in that subject (you get something like 200+ pages of notes).
From past experience, people doing MGC1010 and AFC1000 will need their textbooks. The textbook for introductory microeconomics is not strictly necessary but it does give a lot of helpful background info in case you struggle to understand some concepts.
For law people, for ILR you only need Laying Down the Law and the Interpretation of Legislation Act. For contract law, the principles book is essential. The casebook is for people who want HDs. I would also recommend looking at the butterworths questions and answers series. They're overpriced but one of the few books that can show you how to structure a good answer for specific law subjects. The only problem is they follow a different syllabus to Monash...
edit: ONE LAST THING! ALWAYS CHECK MONASH MARKETPLACE FOR YOUR BOOKS!! MONASH BOOKSHOP SHOULD BE THE ABSOLUTE LAST RESORT WHEN BUYING TEXTBOOKS!!!
