chrisjb:
aha, sounds good man :D
Another quick question (that thing just happened where I wrote this post then it said another post (yours) had been made after I clicked the post button(in the red writing)... That's so strange cos this board is so quiet!) In I.S. how recent do your examples have to be? I get that for the conflict sections and stuff it should be as recent as possible, but how about for the globalisation area of study? Could I say, make refference to the Havana Charter (1940s) or is that simply too long ago? So far I have been using the rule of thumb that if it was after the cold war then it's okay, but there are some examples which are just perfect except from 70 years ago...
edit: one more thing... You did IS last year right jaccerz? (couldn't tell from your sig:P)
jaccerz:
1. Yes i did it last year. I actually also did it the year before last as well as i was getting back into the whole study thing, so i did it just to see how i would go and then repeated it when i was serious about getting an ATAR.
2. In IS its sort of tricky as for how far back you can go.
in Globalisation and Internationalism using Bolivia as an example is too far back, Where as Indonesia is a much better example of where the IMF or the WB made them take concessions. (i cant remember, I made myself forget all this as soon as i finished the exam, as it was constantly running through my head before my exam)
For the second area which is the post cold war stuff, there is no time limit.
3. for Power in the Asia Pacific, they actually asked in 2009 for the example to be from 2000 or sooner. (Last year I think there was a question that said it had to be from 2004 onwards in PCW in regards to terrorism)
4. Example for AFP are again different. You need to be able to know say Gillard Govt. as well as the Rudd Govt, but you also need to know Howard, not so much for 1996, but his whole thing of East Timor. Plus other things, so its like a comparison only point of looking at it.
Which edition of the text book are you using? if its the same as last year then let me know and I can dig mine out and help you even more.
