Sketching graphs

(1/2) > >>

hifer:
when sketching graphs, is it essential tat u put arrows on ends of the curve? Irena from TSFX seemed to emphasize that alot..

And when the ques say sketch without specifying what u need to show, would it be necessary to show the endpts and intercepts?

Freitag:
I'd definitely label intercepts and endpoints.

If the graph has no end points, what's to lose by using arrows to indicate that the graph continues beyond your sketch?

maxleng:
question about trig graphs, i dont know how to get the y int w/o calc?

eg. y=2sin(2(x-pi/3))

y= 2sin(-2pi/3)

where do i go from here?

Sin (-2pi/3) --> Third Quadrant. Sin will be negative (All Schools Teach Crap)

Hence Sin ( -2pi / 3 ) = - Sin ( pi / 3 ) = - root(3) / 2

Therefore 2sin(-2pi/3) = -root(3)

maxleng:
i knew i should have gone over trig properties...

and its likely that there will be a trig sketching Q, fuk!!
