Tye and English EngLang Tuition, worth it?

Yeah, me and some friends have signed up for their English Language classes, they said they don't have room for us but would open up another class. Still waiting on info, I called them and they said they'd (hopefully) call us within the next week...

Anyway, it's in a class setting and they told us we'd be taught by Mr. Tye, the main boss principal guy. Is Tye and English good? Or should we look for other EL tutors?

He has excellent resources and discussions. I think its worth it if your up to date with your english language studies.

What do you mean up to date? As in, his class isn't for those who are the kind that are lagging behind?

Does he help with essays? Like, set essay topics or something? And does he mark them for you..?

Yep because you will be confused and wont benefit as much if you were behind

He usually gives out a essay topic each week once the class is half way of unit 3. He marks them and gives you extra material.

If it means anything, I found him quite helpful for language analysis when I did a term there with him. He definitely has a lot of resources.

I'm assuming you spoke to his wife? Damn she's such a beautiful, nice woman. [/boner]

Tye's great. His teaching techniques are awesome and he usually drills the concept into your mind using food as examples.

Though I can't say much about his time wasting and anecdotes. Apparently he had a friend who had a tiger that licked his foot (the tigers tongue was like sandpaper). Yup, wasn't very pretty.

David:
Wait, David, is his wife Kathy?!?!?!?!?!?! We did speak to Mr. Tye himself though, he seemed pretty cool.

Luffy:
Umm... I don't think you know us..

totaled: well, after my first lesson, it seems like he's OK. I'll see how he marks our essays I guess, we're just tyring him out for a term.
panicatthelunchbar: Google Tye and English, he's not a private tutor but a class type thing.

hey guys,

I did Tye and English englang tutoring last year and I can say it was pretty helpful. He does have good resources but I find that sometimes it's not specific enough as required for the exam and it's a little outdated. I completed englang last year with a study score of 47, and am currently tutoring in the subject. So if you guys are interested, you can email me at: [email protected]. I provide my own set of notes and can assist you one-on-one. Thanks!
