About Philosophy

When I see a youth thus engaged,—the study appears to me to be in character, and becoming a man of liberal education, and him who neglects philosophy I regard as an inferior man, who will never aspire to anything great or noble. But if I see him continuing the study in later life, and not leaving off, I should like to beat him - Callicle

Me too... today I spent 3 hours writing a speech for an assembly, which I know could've taken half the time. Haven't actually started any homework today..

Try not to think about it too much Cata. Go along, put lots of effort into school but keep a couple of nights and days free to do other stuff. The one thing you don't want to do is to drop your relationship or social life or anything else for the sake of school. Getting properly smashed once a week or so can help more with school than studying imo.

Your 98% means you can't be doing too badly atm anyway ;)

Take Friday night off, give yourself some "reward" every 1-2 weeks to take some time out to do what you want, when the holiday kicks give yourself a day or two off, but for the meantime, to constant study + revision without overloading it, you should still be able to bring out some good marks.
Ancient Persian Proverb; " I Wept because i had no Shoes, until i saw a man with no feet!"

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Go with the flow...
I have 9 training sessions, school, girlfriend, friends and me time and I think I all works well :)
I think the best thing is to just relax and understand ur gonna have times when urnfull on and worryin about it all I think the key thing here is to not think about it as sacrificing anything...
Example
If u really want that 45+ Nd you no that if u go out to a party for a person ur not good good friends with your gonna be smashed, tired, sleep in lose half the day for Sunday but if u really want it u would stay home and study moderatly, BUT it is not a sacrifice cause in the end it's what u want ...
Still go out when it's ur bestfriends thing or u go out to a movie for a couple hours...I think just trying to not put pressure on yourself that u need to do it all
I hope something in my thing made sense :)

What the people above have posted are very good points.

- Year 12 should be one of the best years of your life so use that to your advantage.
- Still have fun with friends and family so that you feel that you are not always doing school work.
- Make sure you have some events planned during the year so you have some motivation to work hard which will lead to savouring the event and enjoying it much much more.
- Don't overstudy if you are someone who worries a lot and play to your strengths.
- If you plan on going out on a Friday or Saturday night which is not a bad thing actually good to relax in most cases just make sure you keep everything under control and that you know you will not be at a disadvantage as a result.
- If ever in doubt ask a teacher or someone on here, this is the year where you should be asking too many questions.

I'm definitely in favour of Fridays off! I believe that if you have the whole weekend in front of you, then homework on Fridays isn't necessary. Just pace yourself accordingly.

funnily enough, thursday is my night off! good tv shows! (unless of course i feel like going out, then that's on friday) but i find using just a tad of friday to finish all my hw gives me a whole weekend free to just chillax, without having to stress about finishing hw for the next week. of coruse, throw in some decent study over those two days! :O
