Btw, I've only been one Vector Calc tute so I'm not in a position to make a judgement now, but it seems Vector Calc tutes are useless if you've been keeping up to date with the problem sheets and have no problems or questions regarding the theory.
Isn't that how it is with all tutes? Aren't tutes designed for consolidation of knowledge rather than learning new material?
It's different for second year maths subjects. In first year, you get a problem sheet at the start of the semester and you're expected to work through that and keep up with the lectures (yeah right

). And in the tutes, you get a tutorial sheet where you work through the problems on that sheet. So you do more problems in first year.
In second year, you either get a problem sheet and work through that during the tutes, which is the case in Vector Calculus or you just get a tutorial sheet and nothing else. In second year and beyond, it's all about independence and learning the principles, the logic and theory behind the work, not mass repetition and mass drilling through problems.
