If we do well or badly on the oral does it make a significant difference on our study score?

Have a look at the marks assigned to it... It's pretty important, but like all SACs there is a dissipation of significance so no single SAC will completely screw you.

At my school the oral is worth 20/200 total marks for the english SAC. so thats about 10% of the 50% that sacs count for toward out study score. Not sure if all schools are the same though

wow, that means it's only 5% of your overall score (although that is missleading because of rankings...)

Yeah, ours is either the same, or maybe 30/200.

This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”

I think its the same at MHS. But obviously you want to do as good as possible on ALL SACS!

Ours was worth 20 of 200 marks for SACs. I got a B+ and ended up with a 44 SS. So relax! :)

I'm not worried about it, got an A :)
But I was just curious, I couldn't find the marking system online cause schools assign different marks to each sac so yeah.
Thanks though guys :)

Our oral was /20. 19-20 was A+, and everything lower in increments of 2.

your oral affects your mark but the 'significance' of it depends on how well you do in your exam eg/ if you do well at the end of the year, your sac marks may be boosted and vice versa. there are a number of things that affect your overall study score so you should try your best in your oral, but if you didn't do as well as you hoped, it's not the end of the world - you leave that for your exam ;)

Every mark counts when making up the study score. Believe it or not, a B oral and an A oral can make a big difference.

However, you must remember that the oral makes up 20/100 marks of Unit 3 SAC work.
Unit 3 SAC work is 25% of the study score, therefore the ORAL IS ONLY 5% OF YOUR STUDY SCORE!

At the end of the day, I personally would prefer to get an A+ on the exam (50% contribution) than an A+ on the oral.
Don't stress  :)
