Ask someone else in your class? I know the name of the guy in the 10am monday calc 1 tute :P

Otherwise, I'd go into uni like 20 minutes earlier and go to the richard berry building reception and they should be able to figure out who teaches your class and then you'll know who your tutor is.

Do you know what box you're meant to be putting it in? If so, there's a list of names/boxes on the wall.

It just says 'submit your assignments to your tutor's assignment box'

As Russ said, a list of tutorial times and tutors with the corresponding boxes will be on the wall.

Thirded, if that makes any sense.  If there are multiple tutes at the same time, that wouldn't matter as well because it will have the location as well.  So with the tutor's name, tutorial day, time and location available, not knowing which box to put it in will definitely not be an excuse.

sucks if you don't have classes until after 10. I handed it in on friday for that exact reason.

BTW are calc 1 tutes compulsory? the guy takes a roll, but I don't see how attendance is assessed (20% assignments, 80% exam)

I don't really know about calc but just because your attendance doesn't count towards your mark doesn't mean it's not a hurdle requirement...that is, you might still have to attend 80% of tutes or you will fail the class regardless of your assignment and exam marks.

It might not be a hurdle requirement for calc though!

just had a look, if it doesn't say in the handbook then it isn't required right?

No, Calculus 1 tutes are nor hurdle requirements or are they assessed.

But having said that, I would strongly advise you attend for obvious reasons.

Nah, they're not required. You can get a bit of leeway on passing (if you get 48-49) if you go to all the tutes, though. I didn't go to any tutes for vector calc or eng maths.

Yeah that's what I heard as well.  I heard ~45-49 depending on the subject but definitely 48-49.  You never know when tute attendance might come bad bite you in the backside later on.

Btw, I've only been one Vector Calc tute so I'm not in a position to make a judgement now, but it seems Vector Calc tutes are useless if you've been keeping up to date with the problem sheets and have no problems or questions regarding the theory.

Isn't that how it is with all tutes? Aren't tutes designed for consolidation of knowledge rather than learning new material?
