uhm core sac what the hell?

ok so we got our core sac that will be going on for like two weeks right and...its so weird...has anyone done it yet? like why is it like that its not even like a set of questions as normal...

and for anyone else who has done further before...are all sacs like that?

The Core SAC is the only SAC that lasts more than 1 period.

You'll be analysed on your ability to transform data into information for users to understand what's going on between two variables using many different techniques, and your ability on commenting on the relationship between the variables and justifying reasons why it is so. Expect a series of data sheets in which you have to sketch box plots, histograms, scatter plots/linear regression lines/three median lines.

Since the Core SAC covers about 8 chapters worth of material they can't cram everything into 1 period like they would with your module SACs (which are 1 period SACs) so stretching it into 2 weeks would be fair as they can challenge you on everything you've learned so far.

Does every school do this sac in the same sort of format? Because so far we've completed a test on chapters 1-4 and will complete another on 5-7 next term, no mention as of yet of a sac like this :S

We do it differently, our Further SACS tend to be Friday after schools, yesterday we did Part 1 which took 90 minutes and after the holidays we are going to do Part 2.

Further is easy to get top marks, but easy to lose marks too. I think I just got 90 or just missed out.

i have about 4 lessons to do my sac.
it is so mentally draining. and time flies fast :/
one more lesson to go T_T and i dont think i might be able to finish :/

We have part 2 on Monday, did Part 1 in two lessons last week.
Its easy but like someone said earlier, its also very easy to lose marks because you can get a bit too confident with what your doing.

Since my school has one Wednesday off every fortnight, we had to do our further SAC on that day for 4 periods. The SAC had altogether 3 parts which were all analysis based questions. So the SAC lasted for approximately 200 minutes.

its not easy at all it is mentally draining. plus our sac is only on three chapters which wasnt much at all if they ad given us a normal sac. it didnt even include the last chap of core

Our core SAC was a two-week ICT SAC. Biggest load of dung ever. They'd been using the same SAC for the last who knows how many years with different data each year. Included basic questions about summary statistics, box plots and other random graphs, and a lot of describing and explaining.

But, one of the benefits of going to a dodgy school was the fact I overruled the teacher whenever we had a dispute and got the disputed mark
