Is my answer right or wrong?

The volumes of soft drink in 100 standard 375mL cans are measured and recorded to the nearest 0.1mL. The set of data is:
A. Categorical and discrete
B. Numerical and discrete
C. Categorical and continuous
D. Numerical and continuous
E. Discrete and continuous.

I think its B but the 'answer' is D.  Since it is recorded to the nearest 0.1mL shouldn't it be discrete because it can't take values in between that? (According to 'answer' that I heard from school, it is continuous because volume is continuous and rounding doesn't change the nature of it...is this true?)
What do you think the 'VCAA' answer for this question would be?

Think of it this way, its numerical and the values are always continous as they are measured to 375 mLs?

Maybe thats why its D

It's D. Ignore the 375mL, you're measuring the volume of liquid in your can. It's continuous because it can take on infinitely many values (because it can be 375.000100304230032043204240240240243200 mL, or maybe 374.843580347530573).

But isn't it 'recorded to the nearest 0.1mL', so it can't be that...right? So its discrete?

Haven't touched this subject but this is my 2c.

It's recorded to the nearest 0.1 mL.

That's for convenience - it could be rounded from 375.000110030 or 375.001 (etc)

Hence it's continuous data.
