for unit 1 our extended research investigation is to construct a 3d model of an ionic compound, covalent molecule or covalent lattice with a Mr of 30 - 200

Must be no bigger than shoebox and we have to present an oral presentation of the history, properties, nature, hazards, development, limitations of model etc.

I have no idea what molecule to do! Something simple and easy to discuss and construct, but no so simple that it loses marks for that!
Thanks

Ooh, I feel sorry for you guys.. I never had to do this :P

Choose NaCl, who cares if you lose marks for it being "simple" (getting it right will still be a bitch; even spacing, relative atom size etc. ) -- at the end of the day all you need for 1+2 is a pass.. and you will lose very few marks, if any, for choosing a basic ionic structure.

Do a fun one:

aspirin
D-glucose
nitroglycerin
diamond
graphite
sulfuric acid (in water)

Those are the ones that I remember best

I thought maybe something covalent is easier, no need to make it a lattice etc, just a simple 6 piece thing?

Ah yeah, I didn't realise you could do covalent when I posted...

Do CO2 :P
