Without?

Properties differ from different HC. Generally, the higher/bigger it is it has higher melting and boiling point, and the opposite is also true.

They are not polar..EN are almost the same between H and C

If you have a double bond, still not polar, but changes it's MP and BP. So in general, the more double bonds, the less MP and BP

If you do have a functional group, then that changes the properties making it polar, higher/lower MP and BP

Hope this helped, though I am not really sure what you are after.
Ancient Persian Proverb; " I Wept because i had no Shoes, until i saw a man with no feet!"

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.
