VCE Notes Legal Studies Exam

Hey everyone,

Some of you may remember their being a discussion a few months ago about creating a VCE Notes Legal Studies Exam.
Well, it is my pleasure to announce that I am firmly underway in my writing of the exam.  :)
Edit: The first draft of the exam is now complete.
My main concern is that it may be a bit long. I may have subconsciously done this to punish the 08 crop for me having a long exam lol
I did have a concern with the amount of marks allocated to each Area of Study but I've made some changes and its all pretty equal now I think.
I wont be posting the link to the document on here cause im keeping it under raps until its finally ready for publication on the site. Anyone who wants to view the exam can leave a post and I will send it 2 u. No 08 Legal students will be able to gain access to the exam until it is finished. This is for your own benefit so that you can do it under test conditions and not have seen the questions. That would make the exam pretty pointless if you knew all the questions before you started the exam.

I am seeking expressions of interest from past Legal Studies students who are willing to review, edit and offer suggestions on the exam. I also want to be able to offer a short suggested answer booklet that could accompany the exam and having a few people on board would make this much easier.

The questions I've written aren't on a PDF file because I don't know how to and I dont think I have a PDF writer thing so someone who has the ability to do this would be welcomed on board.

The exam is structured the same as the 2006 and 2007 exam and is being written with close reference to the Study Design to ensure that as much of the course as possible is assessed (although just like any VCAA exam, not everything is assessed).

So please leave your posts here. I don't plan on releasing this exam for at at least 6 weeks for a few reasons although the exam will probably be finished by then.

Note to enwiabe: Do you want to be involved in the design of the exam to ensure that their is consistency in the design etc in all VCE Notes exams? Because I remember you saying you were writing the Methods one today and maybe you'd like them all to have the same font and front page etc.

For anyone who wants to be part of the editing/reviewing, I will attach a 'comment card' where you can rate aspects of the exam and make comments on how to improve edit etc

Okay just on this. These exams will not be officially released until I've sent them around to schools. This will hopefully be done in the first few weeks of term 3 after which they'll be available from the main page.

Costa, yes, I will take up your final draft and change the schemes to match the other exams. Thanks once again for doing this, from what i've seen, the exam looks great. :)

A way to increase publicity... Don't hand out solutions, instead include a link to this website on the exam, put the solutions here at VCE Notes

That way people will come here for solutions and see the site :D:D

And we will gain people teehee

Costa is doing Legal obviously. Enwiabe is doing Specialist and Methods. An IT one is also being done (can't remember who's doing that but I think it's Excal).

Eriny and myself are producing one for psychology unit 4.

Prav was sposed 2 b writing 1 4 accounting, but he volunteered himself *b4* he was attacked with the work load of year 12...

Only just found this thread 2day Costargh ::)
I'm glad you posted in that other, old 1 ...otherwise I wouldn't have found this (not exactly a legal studies troll, heh).

May I just publicly thank and congratulate Costargh for the effort he's put into this?
He's done a really good job ^_^

Hey thanks =)

Trust me everyone. After the reviewing and ideas that came out of Fyreflys response to me about the exam, the exam will be 100 times better. So many things have been improved on in the exam, mostly relating to the quality of the questions, the scenarios, minimising ambiguities (even though some may still exist) and making the questions more VCAA like in terms of formatting of font (boldiing key words etc)

Publically thank fyrefly for helping me out with this. This exam is becoming really top notch. Anyone else interested in reviwing the exam can contact me. I will be very careful who I send this too though and if I am not 99% sure you have already done legal I wont be sending it. no offense intended.

Thanks fyrefly. check ur email when u get a chance. but no rush to reply

Costa, I'll read it properly tomorrow, but in Q8 I meant the *other* of => in.

Sorry!

Edit: Just thought I'd assure you again that this is no trouble. I don't start work until 2.30 tomorrow, and I like putting off my To-Do List as much as possible (which has all sorts of "important" stuff like filling out a billion forms and sorting out those stupid bed sheets in the linen closet ...they're going to attack me when I open the door >.>)
