If you're sure you want to do automotive engineering why bother with all that aerospace stuff, sure it looks more fancy and all but it's not really what you want to do. Go for mechanical i reckon, most uni's AFAIK have a common first year anyway. So, you have at least a year to decide.

Yeah i think i've come to realise that i shouldn't bother with aerospace. Do you think another approach to increasing chances of employment would be doing a double degree? I've heard that doing a double degree with commerce is the way to go. Just wanted to know if there was a major difference in the work load, and why commerce?

Oh and another thing, does monash even have a mechanical engineering degree anymore? or is it just mechatronics thats available now?

I'm not sure bout you could do a general engineering degree and choose mechanical after first year.
