Just wondering, i'm buying a new bed for my brother because hes sleeping on the floor right now and its his birthday soon so i want to get him a bed. What spring constant springs would you guys recommend for a healthy eight year old boy.

Need to provide your brother's weight, height and centre of mass from the top of his head. Is he obese?

The amount of rubbish coming out of the forums today is absolutely mind-boggling.

As a sidenote, I suggest you bring your brother to your nearest Harvey Norman specialist.

Sorry about that i didn't provide enough information. Its just a normal single bed, where my brother will share with his 4 cousins. And thanks for the reply werdna, but our family income isnt high enough to visit a harvey norman. Why else would i ask this question, i was planning to build it my self, i think my brother would appreciate it more if it was made by me.

Well then your project will be beyond the scope of the VCE Physics curriculum. ;)

How big are the cousins? They have to stack up. Strong springs are required, like those in cars. I think you need a quin bed instead. Is the bedroom big enough?

Well I can see from your subjects that you don't do PHYSICS, therefore you shouldn't know anything about spring constants. Please stop trolling other peoples threads with your garbage when they are in need of a serious answer. I know I'm sounding like a arrogant prick but come on dude, this is someone's life you're mocking...
That is all.

I think I do the same for my EPI. What variables are you investigating?
