Before I get lectured by everyone - *I KNOW* that using the same guides won't get me the score blah blah blah.
But I would like to hear thoughts on the guides and revision lectures for these subjects
English
Methods
Further
Physics
from students who scored close (jeez guys, cmon ;)) to 48 (okay, say 45+ then -.-) or higher
edit: and i'm sure other kids would love to hear about other subjects that i haven't listed

Also would love to know how many practice papers you did and how many hours of study.

My contribution
Subject: Economics
Score: 46->47.6
Lectures: http://www.economicstutor.com.au/ which i found pretty helpful, liked his strategies (I used them on the exam - I liked them but obviously I won't know how I would've done without them!) He did run out of time though. the online resources provided were pretty good, he classifies all the vcaa questions by topic and other stuff (can't really remember), but it was definitely helpful.
Though one of my other friends was tutored by him and went to like 3 lectures and ended up with a 37, so your milage may vary (and hi to that person if they are reading this ;))
Study guides: and in terms of studyguides, i did basically no work until the day/week before assessments, but we did have to buy http://www.indigopublishing.com.au/book-economics-study-guide.htm which was okay I guess. quite a few errors in the answers.
Hours of study: after term 2 I stopped working at home at all, did about 8 hours before each SAC, and with the exam on the thursday (I think, maybe friday), I took 2 days of school that week, one day was a holiday anyway, and studied about 8 hours each of those days, and on the one weekend before the exam. So totalled about 40 hours study and all in the last week of the exam, but I was happy with the result :)
Practice exams: During those ~40 hours I did 3 practice papers (though I did 2 of them twice). One CPAP paper (from that ecotutor lecture), the VCAA 2010 sample paper (new study design), and one other companies trial exam (can't remember which). All were good as far as I remember.

I'd love to contribute to this thread but I haven't done completed a 3/4 yet, sorry!

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely -- at least, not all the time -- but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”

I would love to contribute, but unfortunately, I haven't completed any of your subjects. Good luck, though! :)

why would you even offer a contribution when by your own rules, you don't meet the pre-requisites?

That is because....when you round up 47.6, it becomes 48.
About Philosophy

When I see a youth thus engaged,—the study appears to me to be in character, and becoming a man of liberal education, and him who neglects philosophy I regard as an inferior man, who will never aspire to anything great or noble. But if I see him continuing the study in later life, and not leaving off, I should like to beat him - Callicle

Well, since I'm procrastinating anyway:

Subject: Methods
Score: 50
Lectures: None.
Study guides: None.
Hours of study: For the first SAC I did about a week of hardcore study (maybe 2 hours a day), for the second it was about 1-2 days before. For the last three I studied for them as I did them (they were over a number of periods). At the start of the year I regularly did the questions from the textbook as well, but I kind of neglected it over the rest of the year and only did set homework. Then, in the second week of the September holidays I picked up my game and did the rest of the questions in the textbook and started practice exams.
Practice exams: ~40 for exam 1 and ~20 for exam 2. Various companies, hated TSFX though and only did one of them.

Subject: Geography
Score: 27
Lectures: none
Study guides: none
Hours of study: none
Practice exams: none

You're not going to gain much by asking others this stuff, everyone has different learning styles and I don't think trying to make a formula out of the performance of others will be of any help to you.
