The VCAA exam cover index for section C has 15 marks next to it - meaning its a case study/experiment, which I really hoped it wouldn't be. Does the cover indicate what will actually be on the exam? because I really hope it isnt true haha.

No.

It's a 50-50 chance for essay/experiment. If it were that obvious then VCAA wouldn't put up the mark allocation for Section C.

Check Unit 4 - there's a 15mark essay.

Be scared; I am ::) :P

:o, well they won't put an experiment on both of them, or will they  :-\. I would much rather an essay then experiment but i suppose if its an essay this exam theres more chance of there being an experiment for the end of year exam.

I AM VERY SCARED :P

well my teacher mentioned that we may have an option between an essay question or a report. we done report together as a class and its really not that bad. i mean information is pretty much provided all you have to do is apply your knowledge. im reaalllllyy hoping for that report. good thing is we can use dot points.

and besides seeing that part C isa first i think they might do that section easy/easier than we expected.

lets hope so

Marking is never lenient. You have 16 500 people to differentiate - the marking scheme is insane.

Hence, harder exam = better = A+ will be lower = hope for a 75/90 cut off.

teacher mentioned we might get an option too - but I don't know where they get that info from seeing as the exam specifications clearly states it will consist of ONE question.

Just a quick off topic point: Don't use the term 'rape' like that.

On topic: Old SD used to have those Research Investigations which may be similar to what we get this year, just one long piece and not 5 little questions.

believe me thats better than having a question that is totally dependant on recall.
we all studied research methods and stuff and the info is there just apply your knowledge.

we done a STAV paper in class under exam conditions and there were two options.
1- essay q's = "if you want to commit something to memory, take a nap"
2- was the experiment. they have dot points to what you need to include so i thought it would be the better option rather than the first question.

i wrote a bit on the first question answering the first dot point but thats all i could come up with. no way was worth any marks
