hi i was just wondering if you can defer your placement in the m.d. course at melbourne medical school?

Yeh, there are a few students who did, but only under special circumstances. If you wanted a gap year or something along those lines, you'll have to go through the application process again

You can only defer for unforeseen circumstances that prevent you from starting your studies. Many universities have an application process to defer PG but UoM isn't one of them (for the MD at least). Honours or completion of a thesis is not an accepted reason.
