I had a similar jump to Eriny's, but to be honest, the only difference between my two attempts was that one time I took it seriously, and one time I didn't.  Manifested in writing, this meant that one year was serious, and one year was mostly serious except for my mentioning of Human Centipede.

Conclusion: Don't even think about it, the GAT makes no sense.

To be fair, my GAT results actually reflected my scaled study scores pretty well...hmmm...

Mine didn't at all... and my GAT results were dramatically different in year 12 (possibly due to a lack of sleep+illness before the exam, but meh). On the other hand, one set of my GAT results was similar to my SAT results...
