I liked the idea of this: http://vce.atarnotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,41947.0/topicseen.html

New study design, what are your thoughts on what we will be asked?

Kandel's sea slug and extent of generalizations made
Effect of sleep and memory formation in teenagers
A misconception of Alzheimer's disease...and they ask us to dispel the myth
Thalamus and RAS, similarities and differences
Method of loci

And I'm guessing they'll ask us an extended response and leave the evaluative experiment for the unit 4 exam

Err...method of loci? No. It's been done in '09 and '010. Unless you're proposing a triple bluff?

Thalamus and RAS - similarities and differences? Doubt it. Ever teachers are confused about it.

Essay for U4 IMO.

i know that there will be an extended response question.
they will test kandel and the sea slug.
they will mention something about thalamus and RAS.
Maybe they might use 'peg word' method as a short answer or mc

Hm, the guy at TSFX was like, there's definitely going to be questions on Amnesia/Dementia/Alzheimers, so focus on that.
-What can cause organic amnesia?
-Characteristics of anterograde amnesia.
-What aspect of memory is affected by anterograde amnesia?
-What sort of information is likely to be affected by the early stages of Alzheimers disease?

Other questions:
-how does the Tip of the Tongue phenomenon refute the Decay Theory?

The temporal lobe and hippocampus are important!

Also learn about the amygdala.

Ahah, I guess you can't be sure and stuff, its all generalised, BUT this seems to be a few stuff that I've heard would come up a couple of times..

Does anyone think the assessor's report will contain a student's 15/15 response?

Also how long after results day (8th Aug) does the assessor's report come out?
