Average Vertical Force?

Im doing STAV 2010 atm and just getting confused by some of the wording.

Its a projectile but mixed with force.

Another competitr who, with his equipment, weighs in at a beefy 88kg also runs off the launch platform at a speed of 45ms horizontally. He travels a total distance of 22m.

What was the magnitude of the average vertical force acting on this competitor?

Do you happen to have the answer?

I've never heard of "average vertical force" haha. Could it just mean F = W = mg? :S So confused.

air resistance is involved in this question. but air resistance is not constant, it depends on the speed. hence average force.
so you find the average acceleration and use newtons law to find the average force
